Taylor Swift Offers Support to Southport Stabbing Survivors During London Eras Tour

Taylor Swift made time to connect with the families of the London girls impacted by the tragic stabbing at a dance and yoga class in Southport, England, on July 29.

During her Eras Tour performances in London on Aug. 15 and 16, the “folklore” singer welcomed Hope and Autumn, along with their mother, Sami Foster, for backstage visits at her five-night stint at Wembley Stadium.

“You drew stars around my scars,” read the caption of a TikTok video, set to the song “Enchanted,” uploaded by the girls’ mother on Sunday, August 18. “A huge thank you to @TaylorSwift and her mum for creating the most magical night for us all 🫶🏻 Thank you for bringing Hope & Autumn such joy last night & always.” In the photos, one of the girls is seen with a bandage on her forearm, inscribed with a lyric from the song “Cardigan.” Taylor Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift, is also pictured with Foster’s family in the slideshow of photos.

Before her Wembley shows, it was reported that Swift had privately reached out to the families of the three girls who lost their lives in the attack: Bebe King, 6, Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 9, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7.

The incident also left eight other children and two adults injured, with six initially in critical condition. By Aug. 6, Merseyside police confirmed that all of the injured children had been discharged from the hospital.

Around 25 children were present during the attack carried out by a 17-year-old boy. Axel Rudakubana, now 18, was charged with three counts of murder, 10 counts of attempted murder, and possession of a bladed article. In the aftermath, Swift shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram Stories on July 30, expressing her sorrow.

“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is something I cannot stop thinking about, and I’m in complete shock… The loss of innocent lives and the unimaginable trauma inflicted on everyone involved—the families, the first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I’m at a complete loss for words to express my condolences to these families.”
