Georgia’s Role Pivotal: Governor Kemp Declares Path to White House Runs Through the Peach State

Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance of Ohio greets former President Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, during a campaign rally at Georgia State University in Atlanta

Republican Georgia Governor Brian Kemp reiterated that “the road to the White House runs through Georgia,” emphasizing the state’s critical role in any Republican candidate’s path to victory. Speaking to Fox News Digital, Kemp highlighted that without Georgia, no Republican can secure the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency, and he is committed to mobilizing the Republican vote in his state. Kemp expressed concerns about the potential for another four years under President Joe Biden or a Kamala Harris administration, which he believes could be detrimental to the country.

Kemp’s remarks came after former President Trump, despite past tensions, praised him for his support in Georgia, a significant shift after years of criticizing Kemp for not overturning the 2020 election results. While Trump recently attacked Kemp at a rally for not intervening in his indictment over efforts to reverse the 2020 outcome, Kemp dismissed these disputes as minor distractions from the past. Instead, he urged Republicans to focus on the future and on outlining why voters should support them over Democratic candidates like Harris.

Kemp remains steadfast in his support for the Republican nominee, whether or not it’s Trump, and reaffirmed his commitment to helping the party reclaim the White House. Despite recent friction, Kemp emphasized that his efforts are focused on the success of the GOP in Georgia, and he has not spoken to Trump directly since the former president’s recent statements.
