East Baltimore Shooting Leaves One Dead, Seven Injured; Police Seek Information on Multiple Shooters

BALTIMORE — A shooting near a park in East Baltimore on Sunday evening left one man dead and seven others injured, according to police reports.

Officers arrived at the scene around 8 p.m. in the 1300 block of Spring Street near Caroline & Hoffman Park, where they discovered eight victims, aged 22 to 45, suffering from gunshot wounds. A 36-year-old man was pronounced dead, while the others are being treated for injuries that range from stable to critical condition.

Baltimore City Chief Administrative Officer Faith Leach addressed the incident, stating, “The impact of such an event on our communities is significant. In the coming days, weeks, and months, we will need to work with this community to help them heal from the trauma of this tragic evening.”

Police believe multiple shooters were involved, as several firearms were recovered at the scene. Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley added, “It’s a large crime scene. Detectives are currently speaking with witnesses and residents and reviewing any available video footage. What we do know is that multiple victims and multiple firearms were found.”
